The last vampire, Derrik, moved over to Nara, staring down at her as he stood stiff in his place. He seemed to be glaring, and it was obvious that he didn't like Nara's decision to stay at all. She stood her ground, staring back up at him.
"You're really staying with this bunch?"
"Yes," she said flatly. "Did you expect that I would stay home for the rest of my existence?"
"Guh. You just don't care about us any more," he grumbled. And the way he said it made it sound more like the "us" meant "me.

As the door opened, East was greeted by - as Louie had sensed - four vampires. One with very light blonde, almost platinum, hair, was turned away from her, being distracted by a vampire who had dark, blood hair with a large, jagged discoloration slashed across his face from an old wound. The third was none other than Derrik--who's giddy smile to see Nara again faded upon seeing Vic--standing a little behind the fourth.

Agarus watched Tessa leave, he waited until she was completely out of sight before taking a breath that he seemed to have been holding, before collapsing back on to the couch with a drawn out sight. He let his head rest back on to the soft cushion and relaxed his once frozen joints. Agarus's stomach was hurting and his heart was pounding violently in his ears, he noticed.
